Editor’s Column
As the days grow longer and the ice melts away, it’s hard not to feel the excitement building for another summer at the lake. Whether you live here all year or just come for the weekend, there’s something special about the familiar sound of loons calling, the smell of sunscreen, and the early morning wake-up calls of barefoot skiing.
We’re especially excited about this year’s Fourth of July celebration. As always, we’ll have our favorite traditions—the boat parade, the fireworks, and the gatherings with friends and neighbors on the lake. It’s a time that really shows off the community of our lake. You can find all the details on HalfMoonLake.net on the events page.
In addition to our holiday events, a group is organizing a new activity for the summer: Float and Jam (a concert on the water)! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 14th. You’ll find all the details later in Loon Lines and on the website’s event’s page.
We’ve made a decision, and Loon Lines will be digital-only. We recently did a quick survey of lake members and found that most of them enjoy the content, but only four people said they’d be willing to pay extra for a printed version. To keep costs down and make sure everyone gets the latest news, we’re moving forward with the website newsletter and email delivery only. If you’re reading this, thanks for staying connected—and please share the link with any neighbors who might not be on our list yet.
I also want to thank all of our advertisers who support this newsletter. All the funding raised for the advertising goes to the fireworks fund. Please support our advertisers and mention you see them in our newsletter.
Here’s to warm sunshine and another unforgettable lake season ahead.
See you on the water,
