Clean Boats Clean Waters - 2025 Update

We are preparing for the 2025 boating season, one training class has been presented by Polk County and another online class is scheduled for April 21st . We now have four young people interested in helping at the landing. Sawyer Hatton, Logan Dunning, and Ella Cook well be returning, and a new inspector, Archer Semling, will be joining us this year. As per last year we have been authorized to monitor up to 13 hours per day, 7 days a week.

We will start on weekends, beginning May 3rd when fishing season opens. And then transitioning to full time as the school year is finished for everyone. We have received and will continue to receive training and handout materials from the DNR. As always, our mission and goal to educate, enlighten and encourage boaters to follow the laws, drain boats and remove all weeds both entering and leaving the landing. Even with the recent setback with the invasive species in HML, please do your best to help our inspectors as well encourage our visitors to prevent the situation from becoming worse.
